Polaron with quadratic electron-phonon interaction

چکیده

We present a numerically exact study of polaron with quadratic coupling to the oscillator displacement, or ${X}^{2}$ polaron, using two alternative methodological developments. Our results cover both antiadiabatic and adiabatic regimes entire range electron-phonon ${g}_{2}$, from system's stability threshold at attractive ${g}_{2}=\ensuremath{-}1$ arbitrary strong repulsion ${g}_{2}\ensuremath{\gg}1$. The key properties polarons prove dramatically different their linear counterparts. They (i) are insensitive even large except in limit near instability attraction, (ii) depend only on ratio but electron dispersion dimension space, (iii) feature weak lattice deformations point. direct relevance electrons low densities polar materials, including recent proposals for superconducting states.

Bias-Induced Optical Absorption of Current Carrying Two-Orbital Quantum Dot with Strong Electron-Phonon Interaction (Polaron Regime)

The one photon absorption (OPA) cross section of a current carrying two-orbital quantum dot (QD) with strong electron-phonon interaction (polaron regime) is considered. Using the self-consistent non-equilibrium Hartree-Fock (HF) approximation, we determine the dependence of OPA cross section on the applied bias voltage, the strength of effective electron-electron interaction, and level spacing ...

A NUMERICAL RENORMALIZATION GROUP APPROACH FOR AN ELECTRON-PHONON INTERACTION

A finite chain calculation in terms of Hubbard X-operators is explored by setting up a vibronic Harniltonian. The model conveniently transformed into a form so that in the case of strong coupling a numerical renormalization group approach is applicable. To test the technique, a one particle Green function is calculated for the model Harniltonian

Electron - phonon interaction in C 70

The matrix elements of the deformation potential of C 70 are calculated by means of a simple, yet accurate solution of the electron-phonon coupling problem in fullerenes, based on a parametrization of the ground state electronic density of the system in terms of sp 2+x hybridized orbitals. The value of the calculated dimensionless total electron-phonon coupling constant is λ ≈ 0.1, an order of ...
